a poem

my friend anna blaedel shared this poem via facebook and i thought it quite appropriate for easter and the spring season...

so, friends, every day do something
that won't compute.  love the world.
take all that you have and be poor.
love someone who does not deserve it.
ask the questions that have no answers.
invest in the millennium.  plant sequoias.
hear the faint chattering
of the songs that are to come.
laugh.  laughter is immeasurable.
go with your love to the fields.
be like the fox who makes more tracks
than necessary, some in the wrong directions.
practice resurrection.

spring is almost here...

i am looking down my street in morning light with pinks and new greens and birds singing and it is just perfect.

we are on the countdown at our house.  we love picnics, bike riding, quarry swimming and tree swings and we don't want to wear shoes any longer.  so spring, please come right now!

in the mood for spring

we've had incredible weather here on the east coast the last few days.  yesterday, juli and i took her daughter to the public library book sale. then we played in the yard and pretended it was spring!  today, i have a brunch and practice with my band.  is anyone else enjoying a nice weekend?

i don't have a bike (tragedy, i know) so maybe i should get a beach cruiser!  i could settle for these cruiser bike glasses from vital!  nothing better than a bike ride followed by a pint of your favorite beverage!
