a visit to the mile high city

dearest friends, i am in denver right now for a biz trip.  what a beautiful city with lots to explore!  i am staying and working downtown near the 16th street mall but hope to explore some more eclectic parts of town over the weekend.  red rocks, anyone?  i have been here about 24 hours and already had 3 great meals.  please send recommendations for eating, shopping, exploring, etc.!

maybe i should learn this...

  1. There is so much to explore! Eat outside at Vine Street Pub for the best food and microbrew combo in the whole city! Get a coffee at Wash Perk, or find their new coffee bike cruising around in Wash Park. Take a walk (or run) around Wash Park anyways...its the most used and beloved park in the city. Walk down old south Pearl or South Gaylord for an afternoon of shopping and sweet treats (both Devil's Food Bakery and Pajama Baking Co. are delish!) Hang out at Confluence Park, which feels like a sunny oasis right in the middle of downtown. Mmmm, there's so many wonderful things to enjoy in Denver, not to mention the blue bird sky and never-ending sunshine! Have a lovely stay!

  2. I second Pajama Baking Co. on Pearl St! Also check out the Savory Spice Shop on Platte St & 15th. It is AMAZING. The Tattered Cover at the corner of 16th and Wynkoop is a gorgeous independent bookstore with two stories of nooks and hideaways :). Welcome to Denver & have a great time!!

  3. How exciting! My bf and I are actually moving there this fall! Its a blind move, but from my research, I think we will love it there!! Thanks for the post. Love it!
